Our income was down in June and our disbursements were up. We had three major projects unexpectedly hit us during the last few weeks.
1.) The FCC sold the airwaves broadcasting megahertz rights we and other churches used for microphone amplification to big business for their use making our sanctuary mikes unlawful to use. We needed to purchase new wireless mikes for the pastors and others to be heard.
2.) Our well pump broke. We almost lost our lawn and flowers but due to prompt attention by our Custodian and Trustees we had to dig it up and replace it.
3.) We had a pipefitting burst at 1:30am, pouring water out of the third floor women’s restroom into hallway pouring down through the ceiling onto the main floor hallway outside of the Music Room and down into the New Basement, UMW storage closet.
Special thanks to John Stephanik’s early morning response and clean-up and to all who came the next day with wet and dry vacs to help. Any financial help you can give during these summer months will be greatly appreciated.

Approximately 1,500 teddy bears and stuffed animals were flown into Port Au Prince, Haiti on March 18, 2010. Pastor Russ Sterger and his team from Calvary Chapel Church in Vineland flew into Port Au Prince, Haiti on Saturday, March 20, 2010.
The bears and stuffed animals were held by custom officials for three (3) more days until a customs fee of $480 was paid to them. Once released, the teddy bears and stuffed animals were distributed by Pastor Russ and his team to orphanages, medical clinics and a tent city. The smiles on the faces of both the children and adults was well worth all of the hard work collecting and more importantly, coordinating the transportation to Haiti.
Remember they were delivered via UPS in Pleasantville on March 11th and arrived in Miami, FL on March 17th to Arrow Cargo outside Miami International Airport and then flown into Port Au Prince, Haiti. The pictures show a glimpse of the deplorable conditions in which they live and the expressions on their faces establish the effect of the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder they are suffering.
Pastor Russ told us that because of the “PTSD” some people in Haiti have refused to enter a building since the earthquake hit back in January 2010. The fact that we could provide some hope, comfort and love to the Haitian people is clearly following the Lord’s mission. We are now working on sending the remaining approx. 3,000 teddy bears and stuffed animals to Haiti as soon as possible. We have calculated that it will cost approx. $1.00 per teddy bear to ship to Haiti for distribution.
If anyone would like to make a financial donation to help defray the transportation costs (any amount would be greatly appreciated) they may give cash or make a check payable to :CUMC and notate in the memo section “Teddy Bear Hugs 4 Haiti” Courtney would like to thank everyone who has supported this project – Mike Wolf.
